It was 1984; the graffiti scene was going strong in the streets of Los Angeles. A young Chicano artist named ABEL from 92nd and Hoover would soon make his name known. ABEL combined his graffiti skills with the airbrush technique to create the backdrop for Hot Rod magazine. He expanded to using T-shirts as his canvas, and then cars. ABEL moved from LA to Texas to pursue a new start. All was well until his brother fell victim to a senseless act of gun violence. ABEL made his way back to LA and reinstated his mark on the city of lost angels. Soon after his arrival, he was confronted with the knowledge that there was another artist by the name of ABEL, and it was causing confusion on the scene. To set the record straight and let the city know that the "original" ABEL was back in town, he adopted the O.G. to his name and O.G. ABEL was born. The events that followed O.G. ABEL and his family have lead to his unique style and imagery.
